My favorite scary movie would have to be one of the following (I can't pick just one as I teach horror films at Sinclair College and we teachers are always verbose) : 1) Susperia by Dario Argento (probably the scariest film ever made) 2) Horror of Dracula by Hammer Films 3) Halloween (of course) 4) Dawn of the Dead (the oringal - not the horrid remake) 5) The Wicker Man (one of the best suspense movies ever) 6) Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (the film that Hitchcock said was one of his favorite horror films) 7) Trilogy of Terror by Dan Curtis of Dark Shadows Fame - check out the African Zuni Doll 8) House of Dark Shadows (just great) 9) Frankenstein (the Universal classic) 10)Black Sabbath by Mario Bava (the Italian cut not the American cut) 11) The Beyond by Fulci 12) Audition by Takashi Miike

WORST HORROR FILM - Has to be a tie between "Idle Hands" (a total garbage film) and the original "Scream" - a stalker film without any gore nor nudity - useless.

Worst Films (But fun to watch)

1. Manos: The Hands of Fate 2. The Beast of Yucca Flats 3. Plan 9 from Outer Space 4. Dungeons of Harrow (that is the absolute worst)

I disagree.The best horror movie ever is The Serpent and the Rainbow.It scared the guts out of me!!!But my favorite horror films are 1.ANightmare on Elm Street 2.Scream 3.Frogs 4.The Brain That Wouldn't Die 5.Halloween The Curse of Michael Myers 6.The Evil Dead 7.The Serpent and the Rainbow.
